EGIL KALMAN
2/5/2026
Concert: 14:15 - 15:00 // Day Pass: 150 DKK
Egil Kalman interprets traditional Scandinavian folk music on the modular synthesizer. Paying close attention to intonation and ornamentation in the source material, these details shine in anew light, with the sound of raw electricity amplifying the inherent trance inducing qualities of the music. His music draws parallels between folk- and contemporary electroacoustic music via minimalist compositional techniques and free improvisation.
He released an LP with this material in late 2025 on the Swedish label Supertraditional. His previous two solo records are out on iDeal Recordings. A video from the recording of the first track on the album can be seen in the video at the bottom of the page.
Besides his solo work he’s also active in several groups as a double bass player and synthesist, such as Marthe Lea Band, Miman, Völvur and in duos with Zoe Efstathiou and Fredrik Rasten.
This concert is a part of ROOTS&HYBRID and SPOT Festival at turkis.
