Forró de Bicicleta plays vibrant forró music, where Brazilian rhythms blend with Nordic tones and jazz-infused harmonies. With vocals, percussion, violin, accordion, cavaquinho, and powerful grooves, they create an irresistible sense of joy that makes it hard to keep your feet still.

Originally formed in 2015 as a music collective with a rotating lineup, the core of the group has always been Brazilian musician Mariana Maia and French-Danish Miriam Ariana, who is also the founder of the Forró Copenhagen movement in Denmark. Since 2018, Forró de Bicicleta has taken its final shape as a band.

Combining original compositions with traditional classics from the worlds of forró, choro, and samba, their repertoire moves between deeply emotional songs and fast, energetic dance tunes.

The concert is presented in collaboration with SPOT Roots, and takes place as part of ROOTS&HYBRID and SPOT Festival at turkis.

All SPOT guests have access to Roots&Hybrid at turkis. In addition, a limited number of day passes are available for purchase.

Day passes for Roots&Hybrid grant access under the same conditions as SPOT wristbands, which means that entry to concerts is subject to capacity. We therefore recommend arriving well in advance of each concert start time.
