Selin Yücesoy Trio ☉ turkis

The Selin Yücesoy Trio consists of Selin Yücesoy and Hüseyin Kiyak who are usually a part of The National Classical Music Ensemble of Turkey but are currently touring with the talented Greek quanun-player Asineth Fotini Kokkala. Together, the Greek-Turkish trio presents both classical works and folk music on instruments such as quanun, tanbur, and lute.

With the tones of the strings and Yücesoy’s captivating voice, the trio invites you on a journey back in time and places you in the middle of Constantinople - or as we know it today: Istanbul. A special place that still echoes from when the city was the center of the world and home to people from both Europe, the Middle-, and the Far East.

Like Istanbul itself, the music of the trio carries traces from the long and multicultural story of the city, creating a colorful musical heritage. In this way, Selin Yücesoy Trio lifts the weight of history with ease and grace and invites you back into the melting point of East and West - and into turkis.
