Experience Hungarian folk dance with authentic Csángó musicians from Moldavia. An evening of circle dances, living traditions, and music where past and present meet - and where everyone can join in.
The dances you will experience this evening are rooted in a vibrant Hungarian folk tradition. Each region has its own traditional dances, passed down from generation to generation.
Moldavian dances are distinct in that they are primarily performed in circles, and the melodies carry traces of Renaissance music. The region is now part of Romania, where the Hungarian-origin minority known as the “Csángó” have preserved older musical and dance traditions than those found in less isolated regions. Here, each melody is connected to a specific dance that most members of the community know.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
We come from Pusztina and Klézse, from the Moldovan Csángó Hungarian community. Since childhood, music, singing, and dancing have accompanied our lives: we play the flute, play the kobza, sing, and dance.
For us, music and singing are the connecting link that ties together our culture and identity. Through them we carry forward the heritage of our ancestors and show the world the richness of the Moldovan Csángó Hungarian tradition.
In every melody our past lives on, and with every performance we pass it on to the future.

A ZENÉSZEKRŐL
Pusztinából és Klézséből érkeztünk, a moldvai csángómagyar közösségből. Gyerekkorunk óta a zene, az ének és a tánc kíséri életünket: furulyázunk, kobzán játszunk, éneklünk és táncolunk.
Számunkra a zene és az ének az az összekötő láncszem, amely összekapcsolja kultúránkat és identitásunkat. Ezen keresztül visszük tovább őseink örökségét, és így mutatjuk meg a világnak a moldvai csángómagyar hagyomány gazdagságát.
Minden dallamban ott él a múltunk, és minden fellépéssel továbbadjuk azt a jövőnek.
