After an eventful summer filled with musical adventures in Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Norway, and Finland, Krauka now returns to Aarhus to invite the audience into their unique universe of Nordic mythology and ancient tales.
Rooted in old instruments and sagas, Krauka reinterprets the storytelling and musical traditions of the past. With lyres, frame drums, shawms, and Icelandic chants, they create their own mythical world where gods, giants, and elves come to life. Their music draws inspiration from old Nordic melodies and Icelandic chanting traditions, while the lyrics are deeply rooted in sagas and Norse mythology.
The trio consists of:
Gudjon Gudmundsson, who draws on his Icelandic heritage and deep knowledge of folklore and sagas. With his voice, he makes the earth vibrate. Vocals and frame drum.
Aksel Striim, who plays both bowed lyres and flutes, sending gentle tones through the air – occasionally interrupted by the insistent sound of the shawm. Backing vocals, lyre, and wind instruments.
Jens Villy Pedersen, who fills the room with the sound of bronze strings from his lyre, when he isn’t busy playing drums and flutes. Backing vocals, lyre, and flutes.
For this special occasion, Søren Andersen joins on percussion.

Katrine Faber is one of the Nordic region’s most recognized and original storytellers. Trained as a physical actor, she unites words with body, music, voice, and song in her own dramatic and musical way. She moves in a magical space between myth and modernity, where images and sound awaken the senses, and worlds cross, meet, and are created anew. Expect a powerful and energetic performance, where tragedy and comedy dance joyfully together!

In Skind og ben, flutes and drums both challenge and inspire one another.
Bone flutes made from animal bones have been found thousands of years old – and humans have always drummed on whatever made a good sound. In fact, drums and flutes are likely the oldest instruments we know.
With the unique tones of Aksel’s many self-made flutes – crafted from animal bones, willow twigs, clay, and reeds – and Søren’s nuanced and dancing rhythms on frame drums, clay drums, and more, the duo offers a rare and original concert in a simple, primal setup.
