turkis and Unge Danske Digtere will open up the stage for everyone with something in their hearts!
Join us for a wonderful evening of poetry, songs, stories, and much, much more when we host an open stage on January 22nd – everyone is welcome to perform!
You’re also more than welcome to come as part of the audience; everyone in the room contributes to the amazing atmosphere.
Unge Danske Digtere is a poetry-group based in Aarhus that creates events around the city. As part of their many initiatives, they have a performanceteam, and two of their talented poets will kick off the evening’s show!
You will experience slam poet Hiwa van Schayk.
Hiwa is a poetry slammer who masters the balance between humor and seriousness. With a strong stage presence and a dramatic performance style, he captures his audience from the very first word. He shares his own stories raw and honestly – and he’s not afraid to raise his voice, both in his performance and about the topics that matter. Hiwa has a way of making the personal universal, and his words hit straight in the heart – or the funny bone – depending on where he decides to take us.
You will also experience poet and writing-teacher Silas Stochholm.
It becomes a creative playground when Silas steps onto the stage. His blend of melody and poetry takes the audience on a journey through his text universe of self-made words and strong emotions. When Silas performs, his words float through the air, and when they land, it’s in his writing workshops. As a freelance teacher, he travels the country with poetry in his bag. An experience that makes him a sharp and imaginative lyricist.
For us it’s very important to mix experienced artist with everyone else. The stage is for all of us and that is what we will celebrate!
