As the doors open, the audience is welcomed into a unique sonic world built from field recordings and textures from the album. From there, the concert gently unfolds – and the audience is invited to experience the music on their own terms: you’re welcome to stand, sit, or lie on a blanket on the floor and let the sound surround you.
Empty Streets is a bold and atmospheric album where Mira effortlessly moves between classical chamber music, jazz, and poetic songwriting. The music explores loneliness – both as something fragile and something strong – and dreams, in both a nocturnal and existential sense.
The album was recorded in Møllevang Church in Aarhus, lending it a special intimacy and personal depth. The entire production is the work of Mira and her father, composer and sound artist Wayne Siegel.
“I had a vision of creating an album that floats in the borderland between rhythmic and classical music,” Mira explains. “Much of the music has a cinematic quality, and I hope the audience will experience it as a universe where they can form their own images and create their own stories.”
