NÆB & ALL BIRDS SING BEAUTIFULLY - CONCERT AND FILM SCREENING ABOUT BIRDS
9/10/2026
Doors: 18:30 // Admission: 180 DKK
What happens to us when the birds disappear?
This evening, we step into the world of birds — through both film and concert. We begin with the musical documentary All Birds Sing Beautifully. A poetic and unsettling story about bird species that have rapidly disappeared from Latvia and the rest of Europe — and what this loss does to our songs, our myths, and our sense of who we are.
Later, Næb takes the stage with their distinctive bird universe, where field recordings, ornithological narration, and hand-played electronics merge into a vivid, danceable soundscape.
An evening where we listen both to what is falling silent — and to what can still move us.

ALL BIRDS SING BEAUTIFULLY
All Birds Sing Beautifully is a musical documentary about the end of the world — an ending so subtle, it unfolds before our eyes.
Over the past twenty years, countless bird species have been disappearing rapidly across Latvia and Europe — even those long celebrated in ancient Latvian folk songs. Without these birds, the mythological structure and perception of the Latvian world would cease to exist.
Five actors and a choir set out on a travelling performance across Latvia, encountering the yellow wagtail, Eurasian skylark, white-backed woodpecker, corncrake, and hazel grouse — birds whose voices can now scarcely be heard in our forests and fields, silenced by human activity.
What will become of us if the world we keep singing about vanishes completely? Will we, too, disappear along with it?

NÆB
The band Næb, formerly known as Dans & Lær, visits turkis with their distinctive blend of bird calls and hand-played electronic music. With more than 15 years on the Danish music scene, the group has built a unique universe where sounds of nature meet club-oriented rhythms, analogue synthesizers, and electronic experimentation.
Næb’s music brings together bird recordings, ornithological narration, and pulsating beats in a sound that is both recognizable and uncompromisingly original. The result is a vivid sonic landscape that constantly moves between the organic and the electronic.
Live, Næb is known for their energetic concerts and close connection with the audience. In recent years, the band has expanded their shows with a darker, bass-heavy section that adds contrast to their brighter, bird-driven hits.
Across five albums, Næb moves freely between genres such as synth pop, krautrock, big beat, house, and reggae — often in collaboration with guest musicians — but always with bird sounds as the creative core.
Their concerts are accompanied by carefully crafted visuals that support the music and transform the live show into a cohesive audiovisual experience. When Næb plays at turkis, it is an invitation to experience the sounds of nature in a new electronic light.
The band consists of Bjarke Søballe Andersen, Lars Meiling, Andreas Halberg, and Frederik Schumann.
