SUBMERGE - A sensuous, immersive work created by Johanna Sulkunen and Bjørn Svin. The piece explores temporality, space, and relationships, merging sound, light, body, and technology into a living whole.
SUBMERGE facilitates a dreamlike environment without a fixed beginning or end. An informal yet focused space for audiences of all ages. Musically, it consists of improvisational passages based on one hour of material, expanded into a four-hour experience. Tapani Toivanen’s synthetic graphics serve as the primary light source and react dynamically to the music, creating a close connection between sound and light.

BJØRN SVIN
Bjørn Svin is a lifelong sonic creator, sound designer, composer, and performer of rhythmic electronic music. For nearly three decades, he has released experimental and innovative music on various labels in Denmark, England, and Germany. While rooted in club culture, Bjørn often moves beyond dancefloor conventions to create a liberated yet distinctly rhythmic expression.

JOHANNA ELINA SULKUNEN
Johanna Sulkunen is a Finnish vocalist, composer, electronic musician, and improviser based in Copenhagen. She has released four critically acclaimed albums, including ‘Terra’, which was nominated for Album of the Year at the Danish Music Awards Jazz. Johanna has captivated audiences with audiovisual solo tours across Asia and Europe; she leads an ensemble of 10 musicians, collaborates in smaller international constellations (e.g. a duo with Japanese koto player Michiyo Yagi), and consistently demonstrates her versatility and dedication to pushing musical boundaries.
With the vocal improvisation group IKI, she is currently releasing the album BODY on the cross-aesthetic label TILA.
