ABOUT THE EVENT
Ring in the New Year with Rasmus Dissing & the Flamenco Legends – a unique concert, sherry tasting, and cultural experience presented by FlamencoTeatret and TURKIS.
Guests are welcomed with a glass of sparkling cava. During the performance, three distinct styles of sherry from Jerez de la Frontera are introduced, each paired with the musical moments on stage. In Andalusia they say that "you can taste the music and listen to the wines," and this evening is built around exactly that encounter.
The concert features renowned flamenco singers Pedro "Niño de la Fragua" and Lucia Aliaño from Jerez de la Frontera. The artistic direction is led by flamenco dancer and cultural entrepreneur Kirstine Hastrup, founder of Spain's first flamenco festival for children and youth, KRIATURA Flamenco Festival, and official flamenco ambassador for Jerez de la Frontera.
Together with a strong ensemble of Danish and Spanish artists, the concert continues the artistic journey initiated in 2016 in Jerez by Kirstine Hastrup and Povl Dissing. Today, this legacy is carried forward by Rasmus Dissing, who brings new interpretations of Danish songs into dialogue with the deep traditions of flamenco.
Throughout the evening, chef, actor, and sherry specialist Thorbjørn Carl Hjalager presents the mythical wines of Jerez – from bone-dry Fino to the sweet PX – not as a traditional wine tasting, but as an integrated part of the performance where flavour, rhythm, and storytelling merge.
After the concert, there will be a flamenco jam session – everyone is welcome to join in or simply stay and enjoy the atmosphere.
