RIGÓ CHOIR

RIGÓ is a choir working with vocal polyphonic heritage from various cultures. We rehearse weekly on Monday evenings at turkis.

Our goal is to create a community around folklore and celebrate cultural diversity. We welcome all kinds of voices and members despite their background regarding music and singing. All material is taught by ear, therefore being able to read sheet music is not needed.

During a season we aim to have a diverse repertoire from various cultures and styles, we have previously worked with songs from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Greece, Kurdistan, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil among others.

The choir is led by Dorottya Máté, student of Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium, who is passionate about folklore and vocal music.
