GUIDED SHARED READING AT TURKIS: INVISIBLE CONNECTIONS

14/3/2026

Doors: 10:45 // Admission: Free (but requires registration)

REGISTRATION

Look forward to an afternoon where we come together and explore this year’s theme for Århundredets Festival: THE WORLD! To mark the occasion, we invite you to an evening of guided shared reading and invisible connections.

Together, we step into turkis, creating a poetic pause in the midst of the world’s chaos. Here, The Reading Society invites you into a special space where literature becomes a key to seeing the world – and one another – with fresh eyes.

With reading guide Weronika, we take slow, collective steps into texts that unfold the invisible threads between us: between people, between places, between the small moments that usually disappear in the rush of everyday life.

You don’t need any preparation or knowledge of literature to join a guided shared reading session – only curiosity and an open mind. The texts are carefully selected by the reading guide, and the conversation grows naturally from what we sense in our encounter with the literature.

Weronika Zarebska is a literature student at Aarhus University and a reading guide with The Reading Society. She will be our host for the day.

Come as you are – and leave turkis attuned to the many (hopefully now visible) connections around you.

The bar will be open, and you’re welcome to bring your lunch along.

ABOUT THE READING SOCIETY

We are a civil society organization working at the intersection of literature, mental health promotion, and social development. Our purpose is to bring literature to places where it can make a difference, and to create strong, shared reading communities for people in all life situations and across social backgrounds. The Reading Society has a particular focus on engaging people in vulnerable life circumstances, and we work across sectors to establish reading groups wherever people can meet.

ABOUT GUIDED SHARED READING

Guided Shared Reading is a method designed for sharing literary experiences through live reading in small groups. The session is facilitated by a reading guide and alternates between reading aloud and conversation. No preparation is required. The method centers on the feelings and thoughts that arise in the moment while the text is being read. The conversation grows from each participant’s immediate reading experience and the life experiences they bring to the text – rather than from prior literary knowledge. Everyone can take part.
