LISTENING CLUB WITH SABS – Selector of Roots & Hybrid Sound

Following the success of last season’s listening clubs, SABS Selector and turkis once again invite you to three listening sessions this season. Here, the music is given space to unfold in its full length – with time to listen, reflect and engage in conversation about instruments, sounds, moods and stories.

Free tea, coffee and snacks will be served.

Focus: Istanbul Ghetto Club (concert at turkis on March 21, 2026)

Theme: Global Electronica – rhythmic, genre-crossing electronic sounds from around the world inspired by Istanbul Ghetto Club.

ABOUT SABS

SABS is a selector and expert with roots in anthropology and a deep understanding of global musical cultures. Her repertoire within the Roots & Hybrid sound includes Psychedelic Rock, Global Roots, Afrobeat, Arabic Disco, Desert Blues, Balkan Punk & New Wave, Oriental Dub, Avant-garde and Global Club. She curates her mixes primarily on vinyl, supplemented with digital files from Bandcamp when tracks are not available on record or are difficult to source. SABS closely follows new releases while also holding on to classic gems, creating a cohesive and energetic flow where vinyl and music selection remain at the center.

With 16 years behind the mixer, SABS has supported both well-known and emerging artists and curated sets for Danish and international festivals, making her sets both professionally grounded, globally oriented and deeply engaging for audiences.
